Chapter Eight

When Leon had asked Jimmy to leave the great hall with him, he’d hoped that they were going to return to his bedroom to take care of the problem that Leon had thoughtlessly left Jimmy hanging with.

Nope. Jimmy had asked for dinner and a movie, and it seemed that Leon was going to take him up on that offer, regardless of all the sexual frustration that was clearly surging through the both of them.

Despite that and his slight irritation over the matter, he couldn’t help but be kind of impressed that the castle where he now lived had its own movie theatre.

It wasn’t the size of a regular movie theatre in the city or anything, but it was still pretty big. It looked like it could hold about fifty people, maybe more, and there was a popcorn machine near the entrance of the theatre itself, along with a soda fountain and cups, and even those red-and-white-striped containers to keep the popcorn inside of.

There was no one else in the theatre, and despite the fact that he’d wanted to get off only a few seconds ago, the sight of the popcorn machine had him craving popcorn about as much as he’d been craving the sex.

Leon shut the door and then walked up behind him.

“You want some?”

Jimmy nodded. “I’ve smelled popcorn before, but I’ve never eaten it.”

Leon’s eyes softened. “You haven’t?”

Jimmy shook his head. “No. The alphas would microwave a bag sometimes, but we couldn’t have any. What’s the matter?”

Leon looked away from him. “Nothing. I’ll put some seeds into the machine. This stuff’s ten times better than anything you get in a bag, trust me.”

Jimmy trusted him all right, and he was eagerly watching as Leon moved around to the other side of the counter to get the supplies. There was even a little mini-fridge back there, and he grabbed some butter, as well as a scoop for the seeds. It all went into a metal bowl thing at the top of the machine, inside of the glass. He scooped in the seeds, shoveled a huge round ball of butter, and let it all plop inside, and then he closed the glass door and turned on the machine.

“It’ll take a couple of minutes. You should grab yourself a soda. Wouldn’t be a movie without one.”

That was true, so Jimmy went to the fountain, though in all honesty, he was eager to get back since he wanted to watch the popcorn fall.

He asked what sort of drink Leon would like from the fountain, and was kind of stunned when he requested the orange soda. He’d thought of Leon as more of a ginger ale type of guy.

There were so many choices, and Jimmy hardly knew what to get for himself, but when he heard the popping sound start up, he quickly poured a cream soda and went back to the popcorn counter. He could already smell the heated butter and salt, and he wanted to melt right there. “That smells so good.
